“… Gov. Sule is zege mule – U- Tiv Nasarawa State, meaning (great shelter of Tiv in the State) while Speaker Balarabe is Asor-Tar-U-Tiv Nasarawa State, meaning (the Peace Broker)

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has bagged Tiv traditional title as Zege Mule-U- Tiv, Nasarawa State meaning the Great Shelter of the Tiv in Nasarawa State.

Also, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has bagged Tiv traditional title of Asor-Tar-U-Tiv, Nasarawa State meaning(Peace Broker).

Similarly, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State as Akpabam – U- Tiv Nasarawa State, Sen.George Akume, Minister for Special Duties and Inter- Governmental Affairs as Akinde-U- Tiv Nasarawa State, D Joseph Kigbu, Former Member, House of Representatives as Zege Tsar-U Tiv, Ambassador Henry Omaku, Nigeria Ambassador to Sierra Leone as Gbenda- U- Tiv, Nasarawa State, Aliyu Bello, the Nasarawa State APC Secretary as Hur’or- U- Tiv, Nasarawa State among others.

The Speaker, represented by Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu ( APC-Keana) , Chairman, House Committee on Information and others received the traditional titles at the Tiv Day Celebration 2022 and N500M Appeal Fund for the Building of TIDA Secretariat at Central Pilot Primary School Imon, Adudu Chiefdom, Obi Local Government Area of the State today Saturday.

The Speaker said that the importance of peace to societal development could not be over-emphsized, hence the need of his leadership continued commitment to promote unity and peace across diverse ethnic groups in the state.

He appreciated the TIV community for the honour and urged the Tiv people and other ethnic groups in the state to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations for development to thrive.

On his part, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has congratulated Tiv people for successfully organizing its Day which was aimed at promoting unity and peace among them and their neighbours.

Sule, who was represented by Yakubu Lawal, the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism has urged Tiv people to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The Governor has restated his administration continued determination to promoting peace and key into positive polices and programmes that will have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.

Also speaking, Justice Sidi Bage ( Rtd), the Emir of Lafia has made a commitment in ensuring that Tiv nation in the state get a recognized chiefdom in order to have a representative in the traditional council in the interest of peace.

He has urged Tiv people and other people of the state to continue to live in peace.

Chief Clement Ibo, the Ter Tiv 11, Nasarawa State said that the conferment of traditional titles on Gov.Sule, Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi among other 12 personalities was due to their positive contributions to the development of Tiv, the state and the country in general.

On his part, Sen. Jacob Tilley Gyado, the Chairman, Tilley Gyado Group of Companies, who is the Guest Speaker at the occasion described the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage ( rtd) as a symbol of unity in the state.

He urged Tiv people to continue to be law abiding, live in peace with their neighbours for development to thrive

Gyado has commended Gov. Sule for carrying Tiv people along as well as for his purposeful leadership.

He has also urged Tiv people in the state to vote for Gov. Sule come 2023.

Earlier, the President Tiv Development Association ( TIDA), Comrade Peter Ahemba said that the Tiv day was organized in order to promote unity and peace as well as culture for the overall development of the community.

Ahemba also said that the event was organized in order to raise funds for the building of TIDA Secretariat and wished all those who came far and near safe journey to their various destinations.

It would be reported that the event featured presentation of plagues to the awardees and decoration of the awardees in Tiv attires with Barr. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali member representing Lafia North at the State Assembly stood in for the State APC scribe.
