The newly elected chiarman of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, Hon Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, on Monday, sworn-in the newly elected councillors, in which he called on them to leave up to the expectation by delivering the desire service to the people that elected them to represent.
Hon Tasha, in his key note address, said there was the need for the members of the legislative arms of the local government to joint hands with him to take advantage of his three years mandate to provide dividends of democracy to the people of the area.
The council Chairman, while inaugurating legislatives, cited section 64 (3) and fifth schedule of “the Nigeria 1999 constitution” as amended, which he said vested him with jurisdiction as council chairman, with the power to inaugurate and lead first proclamation of the legislative session of the council area.
While congratulating the elected councillors for their uncommon opportunity to be voted as representatives in the general interest of the people from their respective wards, charged them to get to work immediately.
“And besides, the public office are product to served in trust with rare privilege to serve for the purpose of the people at a given opportunity, which must be uphold with highest honour and alacrity,” he said.
“The council chairman, added “I hereby charge you to hit the ground running, as I wish you a healthy and hitch free legislative possession. While I will also be looking forward to a peaceful and progressive synergy towards manifestation of our party promises manifestos to our people and towards an enviable representation of this wonderful administration within its given three years duration,”he said.
In his remarks, the Nasarawa state former Commissioner for health, inauguration, Hon. Pharm Ahmed Baba Yahaya, who attended the inauguration ceremony, expressed gratitude to the almighty Allah and also thanked the good people of Toto local government for the support ushered to the new executive and members of the legislative arm.
He, however, pledged his unalloyed support to the new APC administration of the council, under the leadership of Hon Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, while he also pledged his support and cooperation to the new legislators.
Global Times Nigeria correspondent report that, among other dignitaries that attended Inauguration ceremony included, SA to the Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi Speaker NSHA, Alhaji Usman Mohammed, Onah Of Toto, HRH Alh Mohammed Umar Azaki, Alhaji Yakubu Galadima Makaman Toto, former Toto APC chairman, Murtala Rich, Alhaji Danlami Garkuwan Toto and among other APC stalwarts.
