In Nasarawa State, 2,500 Batch C Stream II Corps members take oath of allegiance

A total of two thousand five hundred (2500) 2024 batch C stream two NYSC members have registered to participate in this year’s orientation course, held at the Magaji Danyamusa NYSC permanent orientation camp, located along the Keffi-Abuja expressway, on Friday, 24-01-2025.

The swearing-in ceremony was preceded by the inspection of the quarter guards, led by the acting Governor of Nasarawa state, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, accompanied by the State coordinator of the NYSC, Salamatu Muhammad, and other members of his entourage.

Declaring the orientation course open, Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe congratulated all Corps members on their successful completion of studies and swearing-in ceremony, while expressing the government’s commitment to the welfare of corps members in the state.

According to him, the state government’s zeal for supporting the NYSC with infrastructure is evident in the progress achieved in the construction of a new 2,000-capacity hall, which will enhance productivity.

The NYSC Nasarawa State Coordinator, Salamatu A. Muhammad, emphasized the significance of the Orientation course, explaining that its primary goal is to foster Unity, cultural understanding, and a deep sense of patriotism.

She said, “it is a platform for physical and mental training, discipline and the inculcation of the spirit of collective responsibility, and advised the corps members to shun all forms of social vices”.
Salamatu stated that corps members are required to participate in various activities, comprising the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, physical training, intellectual and motivational lectures, sporting and social activities.

The Nasarawa State Chief Judge, represented by Justice Mustapha Ramat, advised the corps members to respect constituted authority and avoid nepotism.

Some Corps members interviewed conveyed their appreciation for the opportunity given by the federal and state government and promised to be obedient citizens.
