2,258 NYSC Corps Members Begin One-Year Service in Nasarawa State

A total of two thousand two hundred and fifty Eight (2,258) corps members have been deployed to Nasarawa State for the 2025 Batch A Stream 2 NYSC service year.

The Nasarawa State Coordinator of the scheme, Salamatu Muhammad, disclosed this during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch A Stream 2 NYSC corps members, held at Magaji Danyamusa Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi, on Friday.

Addressing the 2025 Batch A Stream 2 NYSC corps members posted to Nasarawa State, the State Coordinator, Salamatu Muhammad, emphasized that the orientation course is a platform to foster unity, cultural understanding, and patriotism.

She urged the corps members to adhere to camp rules, respect authority, and actively participate in activities to enhance their exposure.

“As a Corps members, you will also participate in healthy competitions to enable you imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship. You would equally be co-opted into the administrative operations of the camp”

The coordinator outlined the orientation course activities, including physical training, intellectual and motivational lectures, sports, social activities, skill acquisition, and entrepreneurship development programs, aimed at developing their leadership skills and self-development.

Representing Governor Abdullahi Sule, Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr. Yakubu Kwanta, assured continued state government support for the NYSC scheme.

He encouraged corps members to be committed and dedicated, promising rewards for initiatives that positively impact the people of Nasarawa State.

“The State government has been supporting the activities of the NYSC since it’s establishment and we shall continue to do that, you can also engage yourself in skills acquisition program using the State government facility, this will help you self reliant”.

The Nasarawa State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Aliyu Bashir, administered the oath of allegiance, urging corps members to respect national dignity and abide by the constitution.
