Delta APC Denies Allegations of Withholding Nomination Forms from Aspirants

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims that aspirants are being denied access to nomination forms for the forthcoming State House of Assembly elections, describing the allegations as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party said the reports were unfounded and politically motivated, aimed at sowing confusion and discord within its ranks.

The APC maintained that the allegations were deliberate attempts to undermine its internal processes and weaken party cohesion.

According to the statement, the party leadership in Delta State has neither authorized nor condoned the denial of nomination forms to any qualified aspirant. It noted that the committee in charge of the sale and administration of forms is fully operational at the state secretariat, attending to all interested aspirants without bias and in strict compliance with directives from the National Working Committee.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and internal democracy, stressing that its processes remain orderly and consistent with established guidelines.

It further warned that those behind the alleged misinformation were driven by personal ambition rather than the collective interest of the party, adding that the spread of such claims is detrimental to unity and confidence among members.

The APC emphasized that it would not tolerate any attempt to manipulate or intimidate its leadership or disrupt preparations for the elections.

The statement also disclosed that the sale of nomination forms is ongoing and will continue until May 4, 2026, in line with the party’s revised timetable.

Aspirants were urged to disregard the misinformation and proceed to the party secretariat to complete the necessary procedures within the stipulated timeframe.

Reiterating its resolve to conduct a credible and transparent nomination exercise, the party called on members and the general public to rely solely on official communications, while ignoring what it described as baseless and disruptive claims.

The leadership expressed appreciation to party faithful for their continued loyalty and support, assuring them of its commitment to building a stronger and more united APC ahead of the elections.
