2027: INEC Recognises Senator Sunday Karimi as APC Candidate for Kogi West Senatorial District

Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has announced that he has received an acknowledgment letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognising him as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election.

The lawmaker made the announcement in a statement following the receipt of the official acknowledgment from the electoral commission, expressing gratitude to God, the people of Kogi West, and supporters for their confidence in his leadership.

According to Senator Karimi, the acknowledgment letter confirms his candidacy under the platform of the APC for the forthcoming senatorial election.

Karimi, who seeking second term return to the senate  commended INEC for what he described as upholding the truth and due process while appreciating the electorate for their continued support.

“To God be the glory! I wish to announce the official receipt of the acknowledgment letter of recognition from INEC, confirming me as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Kogi West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election,” he stated.

The senator used the opportunity to call for reconciliation and unity among party members, stressing that the primary election should not create divisions within the APC.

Reiterating his earlier position of “no victor, no vanquished,” Karimi said the victory belongs not only to APC members but also to all residents of Kogi West who believe in democratic values.

“Like I earlier said, no victor and no vanquished. This victory belongs to all of us, including non-APC members. Now is the time for rebuilding relationships and working together as a formidable unit for the task ahead to deliver victory for Mr. President and all APC candidates,” he said.

Senator Karimi pledged to work with all stakeholders irrespective of political affiliations, saying he remains committed to serving the people of Kogi West.
