National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, has described the death of Eagle Online Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Dotun Oladipo, as a deeply painful loss to the Nigerian media industry.
Mark said the late journalist’s contributions to journalism and national discourse would remain remembered.
In a condolence statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbodinyan, the ADC National Chairman praised Oladipo for his professionalism, courage and dedication to responsible journalism.

“The sudden death of Dotun Oladipo is deeply painful and has robbed the Nigerian media of a committed professional whose contributions to journalism and national discourse will not be forgotten,” Mark said.
He said Oladipo demonstrated an understanding of the important role of journalism in a democratic society.
According to Mark, the journalist consistently worked to inform the public, examine matters of national importance and provide space for different viewpoints.
The ADC chairman said the circumstances surrounding the death had made the loss particularly painful to the media community, describing Oladipo’s passing as a loss to his family, friends, colleagues and the wider nation.
Mark extended his condolences to the deceased’s family and the management and staff of Eagle Online.
He also commiserated with members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists and the entire Nigerian media community.
The ADC National Chairman urged the family to take solace in Oladipo’s legacy and the positive impact he made as a husband, father, journalist, colleague and friend.
He prayed to God to grant the bereaved family the strength to endure the loss and grant the deceased eternal rest.
