The Leadership of the Coalition of Youth Support Groups for Wadada 2027, under the leadership of Comr. Jaafar Muhammad Loko, has called for greater attention to the recent movement of politicians away from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.
In a statement issued on the political developments ahead of the 2027 elections, the coalition said recent defections should be examined against the political records and circumstances of the individuals involved.
The group alleged that some politicians who have recently left the APC previously benefited from positions and opportunities provided through the party and the administration of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule.
It listed former local government chairmen, commissioners, advisers, heads or members of government agencies, lawmakers and party executives among those who, according to the coalition, had served under the APC platform.
The coalition argued that the end of an appointment or political tenure should not automatically translate into abandoning a political platform.
It said leadership positions were temporary and that political parties must create room for new leaders and ideas.
Coalition Defends APC’s Leadership Structure
The group maintained that the APC’s democratic structure should accommodate generational renewal and the circulation of leadership opportunities.
According to the coalition, no individual or group should regard political influence as permanent or seek to prevent younger Nigerians from participating meaningfully in governance.
The group also expressed support for Governor Sule’s administration, describing its leadership approach as one that recognises the participation of different stakeholders.
Youth Coalition Backs Wadada
The coalition said it remained confident in the APC and Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Wadada emerged as the APC governorship candidate following the party’s 2026 primary, where he polled 195,285 votes against Mohammed Abubakar Adamu’s 39,675 votes, according to reported results.
The group said Wadada’s candidature presented an opportunity to consolidate the APC’s political structure and strengthen its engagement with the electorate.

It urged APC supporters to remain peaceful, united and focused on the 2027 democratic process.
The coalition further stated that Nasarawa youths would continue to mobilise for what it described as inclusive leadership, generational renewal and development.
