The Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a prominent legal practitioner and Toto-born political chieftain, Umar Gali Ahmed, Esq., to its 2027 State Campaign Council.
Gali has been assigned to the Legal Services, Monitoring and Compliance Directorate of the campaign council, which comprises prominent political figures, party leaders and stakeholders drawn from the 13 local government areas of the state.
His appointment has attracted positive reactions in Toto Local Government Area, where supporters have described his inclusion in the campaign structure as recognition of his professional competence, political experience and longstanding commitment to grassroots mobilisation.
A former chairmanship aspirant in Toto LGA during the 2014 political dispensation, Gali has remained actively involved in partisan politics and community engagement over the years.
He currently serves as a Legal Aide to Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, bringing his legal knowledge and administrative experience to bear on governance-related matters.
Beyond his professional engagement, Gali is the convener of the Albasheer Vanguard in Toto LGA, a political platform associated with the mobilisation and promotion of Yerima Albasheer Mohammed, the APC House of Representatives candidate for Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency.
His appointment to the Legal Services, Monitoring and Compliance Directorate places him in a strategic position within the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, particularly in matters relating to legal advisory services, electoral monitoring, regulatory compliance and adherence to electoral guidelines.
Reacting to the development, Alhaji Usman Ohinoyi Toto, Abubakar Jibrin Umaisha and John Shekwolo Gadabuke described Gali as one of the finest political minds produced by Toto Local Government Area.
The stakeholders expressed confidence in his ability to deploy his legal expertise, political understanding and grassroots connections towards achieving the objectives of the APC campaign council.
