As Nigerians from all walks of life converged at Ohi-Ogbani fish pond to witnessed this year’s 4th edition of Igu/Koton-karfe cultural/fishing festivals

Wife of the former Chief Administrator of Koton-karfe/Kogi local government area of the State, Hajiya Halimat Muhammed Tanko Musa, has exceedingly extended her sincere appreciation to the digital and global mother of a new Kogi State, Mrs. Rasheeda Bello for considering the Koton-Karfe, Kogi local government area as her second home through her usual initiative and sponsorship of the just concluded 4th Igu-Koton-karfe Cultural and fishing competition held at Ohi-Ogbani fish pond in Adabode community of the area.
Mrs. Tanko, advocated for the need for women to remain committed to advancing the role of massive participation and mobilization for their inclusiveness in the cultural and fishing competition, as Nigerians converged at Ohi-Ogbani fish pond to witnessed historic revitalization of Egbira culture, Tourism and tradition.
Hajiya Halimat Muhammed Tanko Musa was speaking on Thursday in an interview with some selected newsmen in her Koton-Karfe residence, headquarters of the local government area, she hailed the sustained effort put in by Kogi State Governor’s wife, Mrs. Rasheeda Bello in encouraging peaceful coexistence, unity, economic fortune, culture and tradition among Koton-Karfe populace in their various communities.
Mrs. Tanko said also Kogi State First Lady, Mrs. Rashida Bello is known for her massive commitment to things that will improve good morals and breed women emancipation in the State and Nigeria as a whole.
Hajiya Halimat Muhammed Tanko Musa, who is the Personal Assistant, PA, to Her Excellency, Mrs. Rasheeda Bello extends her profound gratitude and appreciation to the Governor’s wife, for taken lead in the campaign for maintaining and sustaining the Egbira rich cultural heritage and by giving them a voice in the area.
She said people of the area particularly women of Koton-Karfe will remain supportive and indebted to the ongoing administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Executive Governor of Kogi State for recognizing women and his people’s oriented projects across the State.
The First Lady’s PA also noted that Governor Bello’s pragmatic leadership styles since inception have been giving adequate support to women’s development and empowerment in the State.
She congratulated women and people of Kogi LG on the just concluded 4th edition of Koton-karfe cultural and fishing festival, saying the aimed of the festival was to increase economic fortune of the area, ensure peaceful coexistence and unity and development of the area.
She equally extended her appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Ohimegye Igu-Koton-karfe, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Sani-Koto for his fatherly role and support which she said led to the success of the festival.
Speaking further, she thanked her husband, Hon. Barr. Chief Muhammed Tanko Musa, Executive Chairman, Kogi State Civil Service Commission, and facilitator for this year’s Igu-Koton-karfe Cultural and Fishing Festival for his dexterity of purpose and ingenuity. She described Barr. Tanko is the best asset of Koton-care, Kogi LG. She, however, called on the populace to continue to rally support for her dear husband to enable him to do more for his people.
Among dignitaries that witnessed the occasion included, Hajia Nana Aishatu Gambo, National President, Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA), Mrs. Ejura David Onoja, Deputy Governor’s wife, Executive Chairman Lokoja LG, Hon. Mohammed Dan’asebe Mohammed, Mrs. Hassana Jezhi Bako Ag. Chairman Kogi Local Government Council, SA on Youth Affairs to Gov Bello, Jibrin Ahmadu, Wives to house representatives, Senator and others are Traditional rulers Security Officers, and numerous indigenes and visitors.
