Rt. Abdullahi Ibrahim Balarabe was the speaker of 5th and currently the Speaker of the 6th assembly. He’s well experienced legislator who deserve to be re-elected again to serve as the speaker of 7th assembly.
Balarabe is a party man, a down-to-earth politicians, a public servant, is a good governance advocate and grassroots development champion.
Hon. Balarabe is very friendly among his colleagues because he is accessible, amiable, humble and a generous man who is always willing to listen and assist to the best of his ability.
He has a high reputation for fairness and justice, which he demonstrated as Speaker of 5th and 6th Assembly that’s why he was nicknamed Mr. Equity by the honourable members.
Balarabe is a nationalist, a grassroots man and highly experienced. He is also development focused, a family man and a right choice for 7th assembly Speaker.
It is believed in Nasarawa state that the current speaker of the state assembly has stabilized the assembly despite party differences till date.
There is a general consensus of opinion in Nasarawa state especially from the Umaisha/Ugya constituency of Toto local government area where the speaker of the state assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, represents that he is the most outstanding speaker the state has ever produced.
Stakeholders in the state believe that the Hon Abdullahi lived up to expectations by carrying all members along and also promoted peace among members.
They said that he had also done well in ensuring cordial relationships between the executive and legislative arms in the state which not only brought peace but also progress, stability and development in the house and the state at large.
Speaker Balarabe has over the years played a vital role in the development of the state, especially in the area of robust Legislative engagement which has enhanced the needed laws for development of our dear state.
As a team player, he has forged a strong synergy between the executive and legislative arms of Government for a common purpose.
His leadership of the legislative arm of the Nasarawa State has been a blessing to the state and the nation at large.
His commitment to the state’s rebirth has opened a new vision of hope for a dynamic and vibrant generation of people who are now seriously involved in the state building process.
Even though the main duty of the legislature is to enact laws and pass resolutions that would have positive impacts on the lives of people, Balarabe has gone beyond that in terms of effective representation. The general assertion is that he has done a lot for his people in Umaisha/Ugya constituency.
For example, he initiated women and youth’s empowerment as well as scholarship programmes for students, tagged ‘Balarabe Education Support Programme’ construction boreholes building class rooms, among other community services which had been highly effective and beneficial to the people of Toto LGA.
The gesture gave him a landslide at the polls for his return after securing his primary election victory unopposed.
Though, all the previous speakers have made immense contributions in one way or the other especially in the area of peace, unity, and development of Nasarawa state, investigation shows that none has rivalled him.
As such, I call on all elected members NSHA, Nasarawa State Government and critical stakeholders in the state to unanimously agreed or can to endorsed Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Balarabe as the speaker of the 7th assembly.
