Former Nasarawa Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi Visits Late Sen. Akwashiki’s Family Again, Hails Him as Patriot, Philanthropist

The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has paid a second condolence visit to the family of the late Senator representing Nasarawa North, Godiya Akwashiki, in Lafia.
Balarabe Abdullahi, who condoled with the widow, children, and other family members at the senator’s residence on Friday, described the deceased as a dedicated patriot, philanthropist, and true representative of the people.
Akwashiki’s Death One Too Many, Says Ex-Nasarawa Speaker Balarabe
The visit underscores the deep bonds formed during their time together in the Fifth Assembly, where Akwashiki served as Deputy Speaker under Balarabe Abdullahi’s leadership.
Speaking during the visit, the former Speaker urged the bereaved family to find solace in the will of God, who gives and takes life at His appointed time.
He expressed profound grief over Akwashiki’s death, calling it a painful loss not just to Nasarawa North but to the entire state and Nigeria.
“Sen. Godiya Akwashiki’s death was painful and a big blow to us in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large,” Balarabe Abdullahi stated.
The former Speaker reminded all present that death is inevitable, as God Almighty grants life and recalls it at His pleasure.
“We pray God to give him eternal peace and comfort the family,” he added, invoking divine mercy for the departed soul.
Balarabe Abdullahi praised Akwashiki’s legacies, noting his passion for development and unwavering love for his constituents.

“Sen. Godiya has done his best towards touching the lives of people positively; he was a great patriot, a philanthropist, and a people’s representative,” the former Speaker remarked.
He prayed for forgiveness of the late senator’s shortcomings and eternal rest, while calling on the Eggon Nation, Nasarawa State, and Nigerians to bear the irreparable loss.
This marks the second time Balarabe Abdullahi has visited the family since Akwashiki’s demise, highlighting solidarity amid the mourning period.
The late Akwashiki, who was serving as senator for Nasarawa North at the time of his death, left behind a legacy of service from his days as Deputy Speaker in the Fifth Nasarawa Assembly.
