Hon. High Chief (Engineer) Muhammed Abubakar Bashir, says he was having sleepless nights following the death of a frontline Vigilantes group leader, Mallam Alhassan Alhassan who passed on during a Gun duel with Kidnappers in the forest of Koton-Karfe community.
Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu who is a Commissioner is a serving Commissioner in the ministry of solid Minerals and natural Resources in Kogi State vowed to end insecurity in Egbira land not minding even if its required his personal life for his people to regain freedom.
The Commissioner who was speaking when he led a high power delegation from Kogi State government on a condolence Visit to the family of late Vigilante Commander, Mallam Alhassan in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State.
He such war against insecurity required sacrifices and is everybody’s business in order to collectively put an end to the burden in the area.
According to him, the late Commander has done very well and he will be remember for his good deeds. Recount how the late Commander successfully launched an attack against kidnappers, banditry and all form of criminalities in Kogi LG and beyond.
He said passage of late Vigilante Commander was shocking and painful considering prevailing insecurity situation in Egbira land, pointed out that Egbira youths should come together and form a formidable front that will clean the area of crimes.
He stressed the need to take advantage of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello led adminstration which has zero tolerance for crimes.
“Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is committed, focus and determine to get rid of crimes in Nigeria as he has demonstrated such capacity over the years with the youthful Governor being honour for his open fight against criminalities”.
The award winning Commissioner while consoling the family people of Toto and indeed Egbira nation sought for support of all and sundries stop crimes causing them discomfort. He stated.
Global Times Nigeria had reported that Commander of the Kogi local government area vigilante group, Mallam Alhassan Alhassan was on Tuesday, felled by the bullet of gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in a fierce shootout at Ottoyi village on the Niger and Kogi states border.
A source close to the vigilantes revealed that a gun battle that lasted for for about 30 minute at about 11: 30 am to 12 O’Clock of Tuesday, scores of the bandits were also killed several others escaped injuries.
According to the source, the gallant Alhassan Alhassan who was the commander of the vigilantee successfully led his boys to destroy 2 of the kidnappers camps, killing many and injured some.
