Happy Birthday To A Colossus, Political Ideologist, Hon Barry Moses Idakwo.
Hon Barry Moses Idakwo remained a consistent political ideologist, who believes strongly in genuine progressive politics is non-negotiable turn a year older today being 15th of January, 2022.
Coming from the public service to the political arena, armed with technocratic ideas and ideals, Honourable Barry Moses Idakwo had been at the forefront of politics of emancipation and human development without reservation.

This was borne of his orientation and cultured traits that were laced with human development and advancement for an egalitarian society.
Given these traits, Hon Idakwo pitched tent soon after retirement from public service when he joined the People’s Democratic Party PDP in his quest to continue to serve both his immediate society and by extension his home state of Kogi and Nigeria at large, a trend he had nurtured and sustained.
Highly reliable and a political juggernaut to be reckoned with, he had remained in PDP soon after joining politics with
an unwavering posture to the admiration of the people of his locality, Kogi, Nigeria at large, not minding being in the opposition in the last six years, he is still a staunch PDP member of the trust.
His passion and flare for political participation to impact society are likened to the philosophy of both first and second republic politicians, like Malam Aminu Kano, and other prominent political figures.
These he had demonstrated during the heat of disagreements between political gladiators in Kogi bitter politicking in 2019, with a strong belief and focus that navigated him through the turbulent times, with his mass supports to PDP, not minding whose ox is gored as PDP, as a political platform was his main concern.
A former liaison officer LO 2 (vice-chairman), for Ankpa local government in 2015, Former Supervisor (Finance), and recently the PDP HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE, he demonstrated grassroots politics and political followership both in his ward, area, and local government, that saw him holding forth on sensitive issues and decisions of the council while in office.
He also held the position of Senior Special Assistant SSA to the immediate past Kogi Governor, Capt Idris Wada, and strategically offered a think tank advice that moved Kogi state to enviable heights.
Honorable Barry also domesticated such rare and distinctive political culture by going against the affluence and popular names in the society, when he vie for elective position to represent Ankpa 2 in 2019 general elections at the State House of Assembly, with a strong nomenclature of ‘UJA ACHE’ that became household parlance to realizing political freedom and ambition in Ankpa local government, Kogi state in general.
The former LO 2 shooked the ground to a standstill in 2019, during the electioneering process when an incumbent was forced to adopt political stewardship and pleas that made him to lost to his opponents with manipulations and electoral fraud that made him escape losing the election by whiskers.
As we journey 2023, with all this zeal to achieve results and sacrifices, sustain opposition politics as the mainstay of any political adventure, it is an indicator to continue to look at his potentials in his quest to serve his community, the state in the nearest future in any given responsibility to the best of his ability.
His confidence, dependable, doggedness, and fearless tendencies to drive the PDP support base, both from his immediate community, ward, local government, Kogi state, and Nigeria at large no doubt will continue to make him relevant in the future political development of Nigeria.
Barry Moses Idakwo who has held a series of positions at party level both in adhoc and party assignments believed strongly in selflessness and community services to all and sundry.
As you clock another year to commemorate your birthday, it is a thing of joy to continue to serve the nation in any dispensation, both politically and quasi-political offices for the betterment of Kogi, and Nigeria at large.
