The vigilante and Hunters in Kogi local government area of Kogi state have arrested two suspected kidnappers on Sunday at Ahoko village near Gegu Beki on Lokoja — Abuja road.

Following the attack on Robomi village in Girinya ward of Kogi local government area, where four persons were kidnapped, the local government administration mobilized Hunters and vigilantes for a rescue operation.

According to the source, the combined team of rescue operations discovered two camps of kidnappers who and incidentally were planning a road block at Ahoko Bridge along Gegu Beki Abuja Road.

The arrested suspects were said to have confessed to the criminal activities including kidnapping, disclosing further that they only receive sums of just ten thousand nairas from the ransoms collected.

They also confessed to having participated in a series of attacks in the local government area.

The people of the area are now poised and very vigilant given the invasion by the bandits and insurgents who are believed to be escaping from other parts of the country.

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has charged all the security agents and locals to go after the marauding criminals even to their camps with immediate effect.

Already the Nigeria Hunters Congress has declared a total war on criminals, either as kidnappers, bandits, or insurgents.

Kogi state Commander of the Hunters and vigilantes has also assured that the volunteers are prepared to defend the state, urging the state governments in the country to assist them in the fight.
