Kogi based publisher, Abu Muchael advocate for Introduction of Culture into Educational Curriculum

The Publisher, Editor in Chief, The Nigerianpost, Abu Michael has tasked Nigerians to celebrate it rich cultural diversity and Educational tolerance through curriculum development, teacher training and inter school exchanges.

This the Publisher explained can be achieved with Government inculcating the study of culture into the Educational Curriculum. The intention he explained would enable students have an understanding of the nation’s rich cultural diversity.

The Publisher who doubles as PTA Chairman of Anchor and Chairman at the Cultural Day gave the charge at the occasion of the 2023 Cultural Day Celebration Held at Anchor International School, Lokoja, said awareness creation through programs such as cultural days in schools is commendable, said when made a curriculum, it would be a way of life for schools and students.

Mr. Abu described the theme of the Anchor International School 2023 Cultural Day; Cultural Diversity and Educational Tolerance”, as very apt, described Kogi State just like Nigeria, as a melting pot for different people and culture, described Cultural Diversity as a fundamental aspect of human society, contributing to the richness and vibrancy of communities worldwide.

Mr. Abu commended Anchor International School for celebrating cultural diversity and tolerance, said what the society needs moving forward is to foster inclusiveness and harmonious coexistence.

The Publisher concluded by saying cultural diversity and tolerance as panacea for a peaceful society all over the world, urged Nigerians to show understanding, respect and accept the diverse culture of all the segments that makes up the country as coincidence for the nation’s growth and development and not an accident.

Earlier in her welcome remarks, Mrs. Helen Mathias, the proprietress, Anchor International School Lokoja, described culture as a precious of humanity that enriches the lives of the people.

Mrs. Mathias explained that culture contribute to enriching the world disclosed of plans by the school to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and other relevant agencies to carry out curriculum development, teacher training, awareness campaign, inter school exchanges and research and evaluation.

Highlights of the Cultural Day Celebration was presentation in songs, dance and food by the various cultural to showcase the country’s rich cultural diversity.
