Kogi Poly Matriculates 9033 Students,  Warned Against Cultism,  Exam Malpractice.

Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has matriculated 9033 students into the National Diploma, (ND) and Higher National Diploma, (HND) programs for the 2020/21 academic session.

Rector of the Polytechnic Dr. Salisu Ogbo in his address at the 27th Matriculation ceremony on Friday, warned the students against indulgence in criminal and anti social activities that could jeopardise their future .

While admonishing the fresh students on good conduct, Dr Ogbo said violators of school’s code of conduct would be expelled if found liable by the management.

He explained that 6708 students matriculated are for National Diploma, while 2325 for Higher National Diploma.

“Am using this auspicious occasion to remind you that the polytechnic does not encourage cultism, exam malpractice or any act that would bring disgrace to the institution.

“The institution does not permit blocking, sorting and exchange of money for grades. Any student caught in this act would be expelled”.The Rector sounded the warning

Dr Ogbo urged the students to imbibe dialogue, peaceful co-existence, discipline and hard work to excel in their academic pursuit.

Earlier, the Kogi State commissioner for Education Mr Wemi Jones in his goodwill message lauded the Rector for physically transforming the polytechnic.

Jones noted that the state is known for academic brilliance as they are making frantic effort to review its falling academic system.

The Commissioner stated further that the state government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello has embarked on Educational reforms .

He also announced that Kogi State was the first to reopen schools among the Northern states, since the closure for Covid 19, and had not recorded any negative report, due to adequate sensitization

” On the 27th of February2020, your institution wrote an undertaken to us that their is no cultism in this school. I know during the Covid-19 pandemic, many of you traveled far and near. Please do not bring any negative act back to the school system. Any one caught in any indecent act will be shown the exit door of the school” he warned.
