Kogi Solid Mineral, Natural Resources Commissioner, Engr. Bashir Gegu tasks Edimose Youths On Peace.

Global Times Nigeria had obtained that a group, Edimose youth Congress, on Tuesday, paid a courtesy visit on their leader and serving Commissioner for Solid Mineral and natural Resources, Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu, and to equally thanked him for his efforts towards using his good office to better the lot of his people.

Speaking on behalf of the group, leader of the delegation Mallam Umar Shafi, said they were in Lokoja, specifically the Commissioner’s office to commend his effort, before, during and after the spill over clashed which ensued between their host community and neighboring village.

He said the entire community will soon meet with aimed of designing a template on how to come and show their open appreciation over what the youthful Commissioner has done for them.

The group also thanked the Governor for appointing their leader as commissioner, adding that his services to his people is well felt and commendable. The group deposited.

Again, Engr. Bashir Gegu Receives Meritorious Award In Gegu Beki

As part of ongoing efforts to ensure sustainable peace in Kogi Local Government Area of the State and beyond, Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and serving Commissioner in the State, Hon. Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu on Tuesday, while hosting some youth group from Edimose community on a courtesy visit at his office, Ministry of Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, GRA, Lokoja, said he was overwhelming with their visit and described as timely and most welcome.

Engineer Bashir Gegu, who appreciated them for the visit, noting that his position for the people of that area has not change which is ensuring peace and inline with cardinal principle of his benefactor and Governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

The Commissioner, however, tasked them on peace, saying its only peace that can guarantee meaningful development in any part of the world.

“I want to categorically say we have done very well to maintain peace especially during the spill over crisis that ensued between Edimose of Kogi LG and Ogande in Bassa LGA respectively, we came in to put a stop to what would have gone beyond our control and to the glory of God we are to giving a positive testimony on that. “

“If not for God and the Governor who appointed me and gave me such an opportunity in my capacity as a Commissioner I won’t have been there to contribute my quota to the development of my host LG.

He described Alhaji Yahaya Bello as an architect of a modern Kogi State, Security conscious Governor in the country, a fair, just and reliable leader that Kogi and Nigeria had ever produced. He said.

“We should be grateful to Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for all he has been doing for the people of Kogi LG, we are all living witness to the ongoing transformation in the area.”

The Solid Mineral and Natural Resources Commissioner went further to unveiled some of achievements derived from the ongoing administration ably led Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, which include, reference hospital under construction, key appointment of Kogi LG Indigenes into his cabinet, security of lives and properties and among others.
