The First Class Traditional Ruler of Egbira People in Nasarawa State His Royal Highness Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, the Ohimege Opanda Umaisha has today Saturday gave out two of his daughters for marriage just as two of his sons took in new wives.
Three of the weddings ware conducted in Umaisha which are those of Musa Muhammed Abdullahi and Khadijat Shuaibu Abdullahi, another is between AbdulKarim Ibrahim and Maryam Yakubu Abdullahi while the third wedding is between Suleiman Usman Abdullahi and Rukaiyat Usman.
The 4th wedding took place in Abaji, FCT Abuja and was between Umar Farouq Usman Abdullahi and Nafisat Jibrin Aliyu.
After the pronouncements of #50, 000 naira each as bride price for the three weddings in Umaisha and presentations of medical certificates of fitness the Chief Imam of Umaisha and Khardi Sharia Court of Appeal Lafia Justice Muhammed Yahaya Usman tie the nuptial knots and then led other Islamic Scholars for special prayers for God’s intervention on Security changes in the Country and for the success of the upcoming General Elections.
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Alh Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi who stood in for his Royal Father Ohimegye Opanda received Wives of the Monarch’s children in both Umaisha and Abaji respectively as representatives of the groom’s family.
In Abaji Mallam Awal Tawhid joined Umar Farouq Usman Abdullahi and Nafisat Jibrin Aliyu as husband and wife after the payment of #100, 000 as bride price and presentation of medical certificates of fitness with District Head of Igboho Alh. Salihu Abdul-rahman represents the interest of the bride’s family.
Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi tasked married couples to adhere strictly to the ethics of the marriage institution to build a peaceful home and morally respected family which will transform to building an egalitarian society for all.
The wedding ceremony had in attendance the Executive Chairman Toto LG Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, State Commissioner for Health Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya and Former Commissioner Hon. Yusuf Omaki as well as Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa Member Representing Toto /Gadabuke at the State Assembly among others.
