Ododo Unity Football Final, Yagba East chapter of NYCN lauds teams for peaceful conduct
In an effort to win the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Yagba East chapter have organised a soccer competition to hunt talents and as well canvassed for votes in the area for All Progressives Congress, APC.
Comrde Abdulrazaq Abdukadir, coordinator of the NYCN for Yagba East Local Government made the disclosure in a chat with newsmen in Lokoja, the State capital, said the upcoming sports event was
part of several activities embarked upon to mobilize the youth to be part of the 11th November, 2023 Governorship Election in the state.
The youth leader maintained that the youth have finalized arrangements for the final match of her annual football Competition, this edition tagged “ODODO UNITY CUP 2023 in a grand style.”
He said the council under his watch is poised and obsessed with the unification the people of the area.
He also said the youths have vowed to deliver Ododo Ahmed Usman, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for November 11 election.
Global Times Nigeria recall that the council had equally organised a football games mid-last year in an effort to to mark two years anniversary in office of Governor Yahaya Bello and had extended it to more teams to be included.
Abdulkadir who is fondly called Omoba said awareness and advocacy campaigns has reached an advanced stage now with Graphics Newspaper, new media and media houses keyed into the project with the sole aimed to promote the sporting carnival.
The Yagba East NYCN Coordinator explained that the decision of the youth of the area and the state at large to openly declared and mobilized support for the candidature of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman is in appreciation of His Excellency Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s unprecedented support for the youth of Kogi state both home and in diaspora.
While thanking the Governor for appointing several youths into his cabinet, elected leadership positions, employments into the mainstream of civil service, assented into the bill and establishment of Youth Commission, proclamation and inauguration of the Youth Parliament
Others include, launched thousands of empowerments programs for skilled able hands and People Living With Disabilities as well mentorship of Nigerian youth across all sections of the country.
Abdulkadir revealed that the monthly payment of subventions to all youth and students organizations in the state including NYCN has developed the minds and built the capacity of youth in participating in good governance and corporate social responsibilities.

“NYCN Yagba East chapter, has assisted students through continuous CBT JAMB coaching, extramural classes, skills acquisition sponsorship and today we have two MBBS, a Pharmacy, an Electrical Engineering, Computer Scientist, BSC Nursing and several other undergraduate disciplines as testimonies of our intervention programs made possible through prudence savings from GYB consistent monthly subventions since coming on board over two years ago”
“Judging from the aforementioned and many more, it’s a natural law that one good turn deserved another, therefore I urge the entire youth of Kogi state to rally support for ÓDÓDÓ/JOEL candidacy to emerge winner of the forthcoming election”. He reaffirmed his confidence in Alhaji Ódódó’s continuity of the GYB’s legacy that has made Kogi youth to become useful to the society.”
He further explained that his team has prioritized consolidation of the Youths by extending to all citizens of the Local Government area with another record breaking sensational football tournament.
The tournament which started on the 7th of August 2023, with two matches with four different clubs, namely; AB Football Club VS Afro UNITED which ends with 2:0 respectively and the second match which host Hausa United and Temitope Football Club ends with 1:4 respectively, is now set for a final match on Saturday 29th September, 2023 by 2:00pm, at Oluyori Muslim Comprehensive High School, Isanlu, holding between Afro UNITED FC & SUCCESS STAR FC in a closing ceremony that will be colourful, fun-filled, well entertaining to both young and aged in anticipation and it will go a very long way to pass the unifying message it intended to achieve in showcasing the readiness of Yagba East people love for Ododo’s Project 2023
