TODA Endorse Gov. Sule For Second Term, Set To Partner With Govt. To Develope Toto LGA.

In view of the achievements so far recorded by the present administration of Nasarawa state under the leadership of Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule, especially on security, health, education and infrastructural development, the leadership and members of Toto Development Association, (TODA), and Umaisha Development Associations (UDA), have endorsed the governor for a second term in office.

Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya, Ciroman Toto, President of Toto Development Association, (TODA), disclosed to newsmen over the Weekend that the two associations commended and endorsed the state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, over series of achievements at its joint meeting held in Umaisha.
According to Alhaji Maikaya, ” the resolution was adopted by the associations to express our unflinching loyalty, solidarity and support to the Governor considering his concern for the security of lives and property of people of the area following incessant attacks by bandits and kidnappers that have continually giving us sleepless nights and terrific moments “.
He explained further that with cooperation and partnerships with government, the area so endowed with solid minerals and natural resources, investors will be attracted for agriculture and industrialisation, as already started by the floor mills and AZMAN farms.
“For any meaningful development, there is the need for unity, cohesion, peace and sense of direction as no where development can take place in a rancorous environment”, Alhaji Maikaya observed.
Alhaji Musa Maikaya who aspired to be Governor of Nasarawa state on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), during the last election, assured the Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule of the support of the people of Toto local government are, who earnestly yearn for development.
With peace and tranquillity among residents already enshrined in the area, shows that an enabling ground has been created for the government and investors to take advantage of arable land and rich natural resources that abound in the area.
President of TODA, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Maikaya said the essence of the Umaisha meeting was to discuss with relevant stakeholders and particularly the leadership of Umaisha Development Association (UDA) in order to harmonize interest that will create a channel of peaceful coexistence, unity and development of the area.
Maikaya, emphasized the need for all stakeholders to come together and form a common front that will serve as a launching pad for the development of an already abandoned area by past administrations from Colonial era till date.
” It is quite annoying, shameful, regrettable and embarrassing that it is only Toto among the 774 LGAs in Nigeria that is not linked to the national electricity grid, the federal road linking the area to the remains parts of country remains almost impassable with all the bridges caved in “, he noted.
The associations also observed that the closeness of Toto local government area to Abuja, the seat of the nations government, could have attracted some aesthetics infrastructure even for visitors both local and international to portray the level of development of the country, as it is the western gate to the FCT.
They lamented that the governments, both federal and state have not been fair to the area in terms of facilities like tertiary educational, health institutions and other socio economic amenities, portraying them as not eligible as other Nigerians that have been enjoying such amenities.
“Despite the neglect and abandonment, we are determined to cooperate and partner with all tiers of government especially on security of lives and property of the people, economic and social development of the area.
” We will come out with a blueprint on how we will contribute our own quota to help the governments and leaders in the area in curbing insecurity as well as fast track development in Toto LG.”

Global Times Nigeria report that as mark honoured the association earlier visited Ohimegye Opanda, HRH. Alhaji Usman Abdullahi at his palace where they sought for his fatherly blessing before proceeding to venue of the meeting.
The meeting held inside the palace of Ohimegye Opanda and critical stakeholders from Umaisha and Toto in attendance. While TODA delegation has the following persons, President Alhaji Muhammed Musa Maikaya (Ciroman Toto), Vice President, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Osada, Welfare, Saidu Umar Adamu, other are, Legal Adviser, Barr. Zakari Dikko, Financial Secretary, Mallam Isah Iganki, Ex official 1, Mallam Salihu and Ex official 2, Hajiya Maryam Usman.
Similarly, the group mission has been commended by relevant stakeholders in Toto LG, assuring them of their full support in order to succeed.
