Delta Bureau Chief, Oghenesivbe Congratulates Chief Ogidi and Other PDP South-South Caretaker Committee Members
The appointment of Chief Emma Ogidi as the Chairman of the PDP’s South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee has been seen as a strategic move by the party’s national leadership. This decision aims to reposition the party for better performance ahead of the 2027 general elections by ensuring continuity and stability in the zone.
The caretaker committee was established to manage the party’s affairs following the expiration of the current zonal executive’s tenure and amid leadership disputes in the region. The committee’s role is crucial in maintaining party unity and operations until a new zonal executive is elected
Dr. (Barr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, congratulated Chief Emma Ogidi and other members of the South-South Zonal Caretaker Committee following their swearing-in ceremony at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja. This ceremony marked the formal commencement of their roles in managing the party’s affairs in the South-South zone, a move seen as crucial for maintaining stability and unity ahead of future elections
Dr Oghenesivbe assured that with Chief Ogidi in the saddle, the South-South PDP Zonal political family would strategize to sustain the party’s supremacy in the region, enhance members unity, and ensure overwhelming victory at the polls, come 2027 general elections in the zone in particular, and Nigeria in general.
“I humbly and respectfully congratulate our pragmatic, indefatigable leader and political tactician, Chief Emma Ogidi on the occasion of his successful inauguration as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of PDP for South-South geopolitical zone.
“Your enviable track records as a founding member of our great party, PDP, coupled with your multifaceted roles, remarkable achievements and wealth of experience in party affairs management shall be brought to bear in your new assignment.
“You are indeed a round peg in a whole hole, as can be seen from your enviable reputation and strength of character in party politics and public service spanning over there decades and counting.
“You are a gift to Delta State and Nigeria. Your visionary leadership in the realm of party politics and political communication cannot be overemphasized. We love you immensely.
“I pray God to grant you uncommon wisdom, good health and all the necessary support you and your committee need to deliver in your new assigned responsibilities, for the consistent growth and success of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party,” Oghenesivbe prayed.
The newly inaugurated members of the caretaker committee includes; Elder Emmanuel Ogidi as Chairman, Chief Damiete Herbert-Miller as Secretary, Dr. Chris Uduoaka as Administrative Secretary. Other members are; Hon. Nicholas Ayuwa, Barr. Godwin Udenta, Mrs. Bekewei Ashanti, Dame Vivian Ahanmisi, and Idehen Ebomoyi.
Party leaders and top government functionaries who attended the inauguration ceremony of the committee members included; Delta State PDP Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, the Chief Adviser to the governor of Delta State and member of PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Senator Ighoyota Amori, PhD and Senator James Manager.
Others who graced the event are; Mother of Government in Delta State, Dame (Chief) Nkem Okwuofu, Senior Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, the member representing the good people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, as well as other top dignitaries.
