Barely days to the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections, Hausa-Fulani communities in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have unanimously endorsed the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, for the House of Representatives seat for Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency.
The endorsement adds to a growing list of backing from various socio-political and interest groups across the constituency, underscoring what observers describe as increasing acceptance of the Speaker’s aspiration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Hausa-Fulani communities declared their support during a solidarity visit to Dr. Jatau at his residence in Garaku, Kokona LGA, on Monday.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Chairman of the Hausa-Fulani community in Kokona, Hon. Bashir Gana, commended the Speaker for his contributions to the welfare of the people, assuring him of their full support in his bid for the House of Representatives.
He highlighted Dr. Jatau’s interventions in key areas, including education, healthcare, religious activities and community development, particularly noting his support for the recent Qur’anic recitation competition in the area.
Gana also expressed appreciation for the appointment of a member of the Hausa-Fulani community as Special Adviser to the Governor, as well as the donation of motorcycles to community leaders, describing the gestures as evidence of inclusive leadership.
In his response, Dr. Jatau thanked the delegation for the visit and endorsement, assuring them of continued commitment to delivering dividends of democracy and quality representation if elected to the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
He pledged not to disappoint the people, promising to build on his track record of service.
The Speaker also received several other groups and individuals who visited to express support for his aspiration.
