Immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has acknowledged political challenges in Toto town while expressing confidence in the ability of his political structure to secure support for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada in the 2027 governorship election.

Balarabe spoke on Tuesday when he received members of the Sen. Wadada Youth Ambassadors at his residence in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

He said while there were challenges in Toto town, the political situation could be addressed through dialogue and engagement with the people.

“We will secure Gadabuke by God’s grace but the fact that we can’t hide is we have issues in Toto town and we can’t run away from that fact,” Balarabe said.

“But by God’s grace it will be tackled in the long run. We will talk to our people and they will understand us, Insha Allah, and we get there.”

The former Speaker described grassroots mobilisation as critical to winning elections, urging the youth ambassadors to remain active among voters.

He said his experience from previous elections had given him a clear understanding of political mobilisation and electoral strategy.

Balarabe further declared his support for Wadada, describing the senator as a friend, political associate and candidate capable of providing effective leadership.

He said his relationship with Wadada was established long before the governor’s endorsement of the senator.

The former Speaker also pledged to make himself available to the youth group for political advice and guidance.

Earlier, Zaidu Aliyu Tanko, Chairman of the Sen. Wadada Youth Ambassadors, said the group visited Balarabe to identify with him as a political leader and seek his counsel.
