FUL 6th/7th Convocation: Kogi Assembly Speaker rejoices with Faleke, Ordinary President on Honorary PhD
The speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has congratulated a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon Abiodun Faleke over the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree (PhD) on him by the Federal University Lokoja during the institution’s combined 6th and 7th convocation which held on Saturday.
In a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Yabagi Mohammed, Rt Hon Umar also congratulated human rights activists and media personality, Ahmad Isah, popularly known as the Ordinary President for the same feat.
He described the award on Hon Faleke as deserving in view of his contribution to educational development, his sterling roles in societal enhancement and the progress of the APC at all times.
The Speaker further noted that the Brekete Family Radio programme has become a household name in the country because of the commitment of Ordinary President to ensure the protection of rights of people in the country.
He applauded the decision of the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwunmi to award the honorary degrees to illustrious sons and daughters of Kogi State for their roles in contributing to the growth of education in the state and across the country.
The speaker urged the awardees to continue to invest in the sector, noting that investment in education was necessary to making the nation and the world a better place.
