You must recruit only qualified teachers

Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has urged the State Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to employ only qualified and competent teachers in the interest of the education sector in the State.

This, the House said was to ensure quality and standard education in the State.

Hon Danladi Jatau. (APC Kokona West) the Chairman House Committee on Education made the call when the management of TSC appeared before the committee on its 2023 budget performance today in Lafia.

Jatau also urged the commission to ensure regular supervision and monitoring of teachers in the State.

” We invited you to assess your commission’s 2023 budget performance.

” As I used to said that , this committee will ensure that quality education is provided to our students across the state

” as education is key to the development of every society. No nation will achieve speedy development without sound education, ” he said.

Hon Jatau appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the passion he has for the education sector and called for its sustenance.

” it is also very important for us as committee to recommend and advise the state government to provide hilux vans to the commission for effective supervision” he added.

Earlier, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Gada, Dangaladima Keffi, the Chairman, Teachers Service Commission ( TSC) appreciated the committee for the cordial working relationship and support the commission was enjoying from it.

He also thanked Gov. Abdullahi Sule for developing the education sector in the state.

The Chairman assured of the commission’s continued commitment to always recruit qualified and competent teachers in the state.

He, however appealed for the provision of more vehicles to the commission to enable it discharge it duties effectively especially inspection.
