As the Ramadan fast comes to an end, Muslim Ummah of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has today closed the holy month Tafsir.
Mallam Muhammed Muhammed Sarki who conducted the Ramadan Tafsir through out the period at the closing of the session today Tuesday tasked believers to sustain the lessons of the holy month after the Ramadan.
He implored believers to prioritize girl child education as a way of empowering the womanhood to withstand modern challenges.
The Islamic cleric Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki who was speaking while drawing the curtain of this year’s Quranic recitation and commentary known as tafsir of the State House of Assembly dwells on lots of issues ranging from idleness, girl child education and marriage among others.
It would be recalled that for the past three weeks, the Muslim Community of the State Assembly have been observing Quranic recitation and commentary known as tafsir being one of the tenets of the month of Ramadan and as the fasting draws to an end, the closing session was held amidst Quranic teachings against idleness.
LoopIn a sermon which was more of a teaching, an Islamic cleric Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki called on Muslim Community to prioritize girl child education as a way of empowering the womanhood to enable her confront the challenges associated with the contemporary society.
The cleric lamented the rate of quick-to-make-money-symdrome among the Nigerian youths which he said is detriment to societal growth, tasking the youths to be innovative inline with Islamic teachings so as to be dependable and contribute to human development.
Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki said Quran frowns at idleness and unnecessary begging, calling on the people especially to put on their thinking caps to earn a living instead of depending on assistance.
On the issue of marriage, the cleric noted that Islam also frowns at believers who marry knowing fully well that they don’t have the means of catering for the wife, saying that act attracts God’s wrath, since the children of the said marriage will be subjected to hardship.
The Quranic recitation and commentary came to an end with questions and answers segment revolving around harmonious leaving and arms giving where Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki reminded those who fight for religious sentiment to have a rethink as it has know basis in Islam.
Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi represented by Staff Officer Sulieman Danladi Gyabo called on Muslim Community of the state assembly to put the knowledge acquired during the tafsir into use for the betterment of the religion and society at large.
