Eid-el-Kabir: Pray Bandits, Terrorists Abandon Evil Ways — Tinubu Urges Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to pray for bandits and terrorists to repent and abandon their criminal activities, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to ending insecurity across the country.

The President made the appeal in his Eid-el-Kabir message released on Tuesday to felicitate with Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the celebration of the Islamic festival.

Tinubu described Eid-el-Kabir as a season that symbolizes faith, obedience, sacrifice and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, stressing that the virtues demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim remain vital to national unity and development.

According to him, Nigerians must continue to embrace sacrifice, selflessness, compassion and peaceful coexistence in order to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.

Speaking on the nation’s security challenges, the President acknowledged that terrorist and bandit attacks still occur in some parts of the country despite intensified military operations and efforts by security agencies.

“I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies, including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities,” he stated.

The President, however, assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remains determined to defeat all criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of the nation.

“I assure you, you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” Tinubu said.

He further urged Nigerians to use the Sallah period to offer prayers for national peace, unity and wisdom for leaders at all levels of government.

“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” the President added.

Tinubu also used the occasion to highlight the economic reforms introduced by his administration over the past three years, expressing optimism that the policies were beginning to yield positive results.

According to him, the difficult economic phase experienced by Nigerians is gradually easing, as signs of recovery and renewed investor confidence continue to emerge.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” he declared, adding that Nigeria is steadily becoming “a preferred investment destination” capable of driving economic growth, industrial expansion and job creation.

The President assured citizens that his administration would remain focused on implementing policies aimed at improving the living conditions of Nigerians and strengthening the economy.

He concluded the message by wishing Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful, joyful and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
