The Emir of Keffi, Shehu Chindo-Yamusa III, and Hon. Baba Ali Nana, representing Keffi West Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, have congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Nasarawa State on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embrace agriculture, education, peace, and unity for societal growth.

The duo spoke separately with journalists in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Wednesday as Muslims across the country marked the Islamic festival.

In his message, the Emir of Keffi called on residents of the emirate to reflect on the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim by promoting peace, sacrifice, compassion, and obedience to the will of Almighty Allah.

Dr. Chindo-Yamusa III described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred celebration that symbolizes love, submission, and unwavering faith, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

The royal father urged his subjects to take advantage of the rainy season to invest in farming and agricultural activities, stressing that agriculture remains the foundation of economic prosperity and self-reliance.

According to him, education should also be treated as a top priority, noting that the advancement of any society largely depends on the quality of education attained by its people.

The monarch further encouraged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the 2027 general elections by voting for candidates of their choice.

He also appreciated residents for their support and participation in the political process, particularly during recent political activities in the state.

On his part, Hon. Nana urged Muslims to continue upholding the values of tolerance, patience, peaceful coexistence, and harmony, especially at a time when Nigeria requires collective prayers and unity for national development.

“I urge my Muslim brothers and sisters to celebrate the festival peacefully, responsibly, and in the spirit of love and harmony,” he said.

The lawmaker prayed for Allah’s acceptance of the prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship of the faithful, while also seeking divine blessings for peace, unity, progress, and economic prosperity in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.

Hon. Nana, who recently emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress House of Assembly primaries for Keffi West Constituency, pledged to intensify efforts toward improving the welfare of his constituents if re-elected in 2027.

He said education would remain one of his top priorities, promising to expand scholarship opportunities and other educational support programmes for youths in the constituency.

“While drilling boreholes is important, educating the people is a more sustainable way of reducing poverty and empowering society because today’s world is driven by education,” he stated.

The lawmaker also appealed to former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, who recently exited the APC over alleged irregularities in the party primaries, to reconsider his decision and return to the party in the interest of unity and progress.

He further urged Ahmed Wadada to immediately commence reconciliation efforts among aggrieved party members to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
