President Akufo-Addo’s decision to serve all Junior High School pupils with a hot meal each day is facing some teething problems.

According to pupils of some schools in the Kumasi metropolis, the food is tasteless, lacks quality and not fit for human consumption.

Today, reports coming in suggest some final year students of Kanitinkyiren D/A Junior High School in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region have complained bitterly about the quality of food being served them as part of government’s free hot meal.

These students in an interview with Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo said: “We couldn’t eat the food which was served to us yesterday because of its quality.”

According to them, despite the laudable nature of the idea by the president, the quality of the food served is still a major headache.

“President Akufo-Addo’s intention to provide us with one hot meal every day was excellent, but the problem is the quality of the food. Yesterday we couldn’t eat the food because it was tasteless and they didn’t cook the food well. If we are served this type of food everyday, then they should delete our names from the free hot meal policy because we won’t eat the food” one student re-echoed the concern of the colleagues.

There has been some sort of uproar across some schools in the country who have complained about the food and the way it is prepared. Other individuals have advised the president to discontinue with the intervention since pupils are complaining.
